WALL MOUNTED FISH TANK: AN INTERESTING OPTION FOR LIMITED USE

A new trend in the aquarium hobby is the wall mounted fish tank. Usually small, and suitable for only a few small fresh water fishes, these nevertheless add a unique visual element to a room, provided they are cared for with the same dedication as you would a more conventional fish tank. Wall mounted fish tanks are good when space is limited or for temporary installations, and as such serve their purpose. But for those interested in serious aquariums or saltwater species, the wall mounted aquarium should never be used.

The Advantages
There are many advantages that come from having a wall mounted fish tank, such as: a wall mounted fish tank is perfect for you when you don’t really have a lot of floor space for a fish tank; for an unusual design feature, you can even install a wall mounted fish tank into a wall between rooms; wall mounted fish tanks make it easy to see and enjoy your fish as you would like to; the wall mounted fish tank’s compact design often includes filter and light that fits the tank properly; wall mounted fish tanks are also great for places where you have a lot of floor traffic and would not normally risk putting a traditional aquarium.

The Disadvantages
However, as with anything else, there are also certain disadvantages to the wall mounted fish tanks, which includes that of the following: they limit water to air exchange because of the reduced surface area of the tank; they require that of strong wall support with studs in order to hold up the tank; they are more expensive than regular fish tanks; and they will limit your fish selection as you can only get small fish that would be happy in such a skinny fish tank.

Where To Look…
There are many locations available today where you can find a wall mounted fish tank, primarily due to the fact of how popular the wall mounted fish tank has become, especially over the past few years in particular. One of these places is Bizarre Aquariums, which is a company that has a wide and varied range of wall mounted aquariums that are able to be shipped out along with instructions and fish purchasing guides.

There is also the option of Frame-a-Fish, which is a company that offers a particular wall mounted aquarium that is called the Frame-a-Fish tank, and which comes with the aquarium itself and a holder, as well as a black frame, filtration, lighting, décor, 2 background images, and an owner’s manual that is available in both English and Spanish.
